Member: Youth Center Inc
The Youth Center, Inc. is celebrating over thirty years of providing critical services for the youth and their families in Adams, Cheshire and Savoy. We have grown from a small group of parents that hosted monthly activities to a full-fledged drop-in center, offering tutoring, recreational activities, computer lab, arts & science programs and more. A board of directors oversees the direction and programming of Youth Center, Inc. A full-time Executive Director coordinates programs, recruits volunteers, assists with fundraising, and conducts community relations. Part-time staff and volunteers supervise the drop-in center, summer camp, and outreach programming to the schools and communities
The Youth Center, Inc. has a fully equipped computer lab, game room and lounge which has pool, air hockey and ping pong tables, darts, video and board games and television for those who “drop in” after school. We offer our members and the community exciting hands on approach to experimentation and learning through instruction in computer technology and web design, classes in babysitting, karate, arts and crafts, financial literacy, math and science. Weekly our staff do outreach to the schools in Adams and Cheshire offering activities in science, arts and crafts, drama and a variety of other age appropriate activities designed to help with each child’s healthy development.
